Lee Leclear Tennis Center Tennis Court Light Replacement Project
Houston, Texas

"Dear Jack, I wanted to reach out and thank you for the work TPC, Inc. performed for the Lee LeClear Tennis Center Light Replacement project.

TPC, Inc. helped to develop multiple product availability options for this project and completed the plans for construction in a timely and professional manner.  In addition, TPC, Inc. provided critical assistance at the outset regarding unique existing conditions, during the construction process and through the final evaluation of the new LED lighting system.

The players I have spoken to are excited about the new lighting and it's my understanding from the site director that leagues playing at other facilities are approaching HPARD about moving to Lee LeClear."

Sincerely,

Tom Gall, Parks Project Manager

"Thank you for the extensive planning, design, cost estimates and engineering of the proposed indoor/recessed outdoor tennis stadium project.  We had no idea of the complexities and possibilities for the project!  The completed, upgraded outdoor complex is a delight with the coaches and players all greatly enjoying the new facility!

One of the keys in any in-depth project is the ability of all stakeholders to work together in a frank, yet positive, flexible and timely manner.  All of us here in the athletic department wish to commend you on maintaining that positive, professional approach on our project."

“Our Baylor tennis facility was designed by Jack Kamrath. Words cannot express how pleased we are with how things turned out. Jack was very easy to work with and we feel that we have the finest outdoor collegiate tennis facility in the nation. Most of our visiting teams and fans agree.”

"The Athletic Department has been considering building a state-of-the-art indoor tennis facility.... The staff at Tennis Planning Consultants were very innovative with their concepts and consistently reaffirmed the integrity and quality of their work in their attention to detail.  The staff continuously reviewed and modified the architectural plans for the final design of one of the premier indoor tennis concepts in the country.

I would highly recommend Tennis Planning Consultants to any organization that is interested in hiring one of the most professional and impressive consulting companies in the country."

University of Denver & Denver Public Schools
Denver, Colorado

"Jack Kamrath and Tennis Planning Consultants recently provided planning assistance with the Denver Tennis Park feasibility study.  We were hired by the Denver Public Schools to create a new master plan for their All City Stadium complex and provide a plan that would include 8-10 indoor and 6-8 outdoor courts.

Due to the tight site area, the overall plan has been very challenging to solve.  Jack has been instrumental in coming up with creative ideas for working with tight quarters and unusual configurations.  The Tennis facility has been relegated to a triangular site area that does not allow easy layout of rectangular courts.

Jack has used his vast knowledge of collegiate tennis experience to gain not only the school districts confidence, but also our two partners, Denver University and a nonprofit junior tennis program.  Only someone with a detailed understanding of the collegiate game would be able to do this.

I would highly recommend Jack and Tennis Planning Consultants for tennis planning services.  If you'd like further details, feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

"I'm pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Tennis Planning Consultants, Inc. led by Jack Kamrath.  Jack worked with us on the recently completed Indoor Tennis Practice Facility at the University of Florida.

Adherence to NCAA standards was a critical goal during the design of the Indoor Tennis Practice Facility.  Jack and his team provided guidance on interior finish systems, court dimensions and surfacing requirements, and proper anchoring of nets.  As a result of our collaboration, the University of Florida has an indoor tennis facility that is suitable for practice as well as tournament play, and is a source of pride for the UF Tennis program.

Through all phases of design and construction, Tennis Planning Consultants, Inc. were consummate professionals in terms of technical ability, quality of design and documents, and responsiveness.  I look forward to the opportunity to work with Jack and his team on future projects."

Sincerely,

Southwest Indoor Tennis Project at the The Southwest Athletic Center Complex
Seattle, Washington

"Friends of Southwest Indoor Tennis was charged with determining the feasibility of enclosing six existing outdoor tennis courts with an indoor tennis structure in terms of site capability/functionality, tennis market and tennis demand for the location, and construction and operating cost projections.

The study was complicated by the fact that the site was on school owned property in the City of Seattle, would be open to the public and could conceivably be operated by a third party management company.

After thorough research and interviews, 'Friends' determined that Tennis Planning Consultants, Inc. of Houston, Texas was the most experienced, professional and independent tennis facility consulting firm to undertake the study.

Our confidence in TPC was completely justified with their findings and recommendations being performed thoroughly, carefully and totally objectively.  TPC conducted three trips to Seattle to conduct their field research, meet with the City of Seattle building officials, and conduct two community meetings to discuss their findings and conclusions.  Their final written report with supporting statistics, site plans, and aerial views of the proposed facility exceeded our expectations.

TPC president, Jack Kamrath, conducted his work efficiently, quickly and completely professionally and in a time frame that was expected by 'Friends'.  Their work could not be recommended more highly by Friends of Southwest Indoor Tennis."

Southeast Tennis and Learning Center
Washington, D.C.

"It is with a great deal of admiration and appreciation that I wanted to drop you a note regarding the planning, design and coordination of the many, many successful factors that went into your work on SETLC.

As the leader of this project in the first phase nearly fifteen years ago, I was acutely aware of the many potential pitfalls when it was decided to completely remove, redesign and rebuild the indoor and outdoor tennis facilities into a state-of-the-art permanent home for SETLC that serves the citizens of Washington, D.C., and beyond.

As a public-served project with public money, we needed to accomplish two primary goals: 1) Design and build a state-of-the-art tennis facility within a very tight and cost-competitive budget to serve the citizens of Washington, DC, and 2) bring the project in on time and in the budget.

To say that you and your team accomplished these goals is an understatement.  Getting the 6 new full-size indoor courts, 7 new outdoor courts, including one clay court, all while the existing learning center stayed open, was fantastic.  The project is an absolute jewel and it came in on-time and in-budget, and continues to receive rave reviews!"

“To hire Tennis Planning Consultants frankly was one of the wisest decisions that we made in developing this project and without hesitation we would hire your firm again if we were doing the project once more. I was frankly very impressed with the combination of both architectural and financial guidance that you were able to provide for us. Normally consultants usually are strong in one area or the other and it’s rare to find a consultant who combines both talents.”

“We literally could not have succeeded as we did without your support all through the project. You supported us through the concept phase and helped us understand what we needed as well as what we wanted. You led us through the design phase, always ready with helpful suggestions about efficiencies and opportunities. Lastly, you were an integral part of the building phase team and you were there to sort out the few questions that were raised in the processes that brought the project together. We believe that we have the best facility in the State of Indiana, and that would not have been the case without your guidance”.

“The Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, formerly known as the Mary Potishman Lard Tennis Center is one of the most unique and beautiful tennis facilities I have ever seen.  Your unique design, of sunken down courts, in order to minimize wind, also creates a view down onto the playing surface, which serves as practical and aesthetically pleasing.  Its beauty is unmatched across the country. To think that you have created a facility that improves with age is unheard of. As the surrounding trees age and the flowers bloom with each season, the facility becomes more and more beautiful with each passing year.  I view this facility as a park, that also happens to house a thriving Tennis center, and a Nationally recognized tennis program....The greatest compliment I could pay you is to tell you that you've designed and created more than a tennis facility.  You've created a standard that this school has maintained throughout the years.  TCU is extremely proud of this facility, and you should be too for your fine work.”

"As you know, I have played tennis most every place in the world and am somewhat of a nut on facilities.  Even though it is my project, I think I can say unequivocably that it is the finest facility of its type that I have ever had the enjoyment of playing at.

The participation of Tennis Planning Consultants and your fine staff in the planning, economic feasibility, architecture and construction of the London Bridge Racquet Club, has, in my opinion, contributed in great measure to the successful outcome of the overall project.  Not only is it pleasing aesthetically, but the quality that has gone into the project makes it second to none in my opinion."

"I met Jack Kamrath in late 2010 with the ambitious project of building a new, custom home attached to an indoor tennis court facilty on the side of the Franklin Mountains in El Paso, Texas.  I was immediately impressed by Jack's experience and talent.  In fact, he and his father built what is still one of the premier tennis court facilities in my town of El Paso back in the 1970's.  I priced out other architects who ultimately could not match Jack's lower professional fees, creative touch, and personalized access.  My decision was easy... Between Jack and the engineers, the daily challenges of building such an unusual structure were solved within hours at pennies on the dollar by email or phone.  These challenges included designing a 7,000 square foot, tilt up concrete building, half buried into the mountain, with a 30 foot midline clearance, attached to a home all in a residential neighborhood with strict rules and covenants.  Even major change orders like the addition of a viewing balcony from the house into the court were incorporated seamlessly into the design by Jack and the team.  Perhaps the best feature is the fact that the temperature within the structure stays in the high 60's or low 70's irrespective of highs in the 100's or lows in the 30's outside.  For any questions regarding my unreserved recommendation, feel free to contact me by phone (915-351-7546) or at my email address aguevara@suncitydermatology.com."  Click here to see footage of the custom home with an attached indoor tennis court facility.
